The 7th UNFPA Country Programme Document (CPD) for Namibia, covering the period from 2025 to 2029, was approved by the Executive Board on 29 August 2024. This document outlines the areas of cooperation between UNFPA and the Government of the Republic of Namibia. The 7th CPD is designed to build upon our existing work while addressing new challenges and opportunities. It will continue to prioritize key areas, including Adolescents and Youth: with 71.1% of Namibia’s population under the age of 35, this demographic remains central to our programming. UNFPA aims to harness their potential by investing in their sexual and reproductive health and development. Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment: UNFPA remains steadfast in its commitment to eliminate sexual and gender-based violence and promote gender equality. Strengthening Data Systems: Enhancing data systems and evidence will also be a key focus, enabling us to address population changes more effectively and contribute to informed decision-making. Through these efforts, the CPD seeks to bolster national strategies in strengthening sexual and reproductive health, particularly for adolescents, young people, and women.
