WINDHOEK, Namibia - UNFPA actively empowers and engages young people in its work and advocates for full participation of youth in order to reach their full potential. To this end, UNFPA has been keenly endowing the African Youth and Adolescents Network (AfriYAN) Namibia chapter through capacity building workshops on adolescent sexual and reproductive health (SRH).  In October this year, UNFPA assisted AfriYAN to conduct a two-day strategic planning meeting. The meeting allowed the new executives to engage with experts in the areas of HIV prevention, promotion of SRH and gender based violence prevention. The meeting also provided a platform for discussions on the way forward for the organisation and formulation of a detailed strategic plan to guide their work during their tenure in office. The new executive team was elected on 15 June 2019.
